8-Step Recovery Group

A meeting for anyone in recovery from addiction, habitual behaviours and obsessive tendencies.
Our focus is a text: “Eight Step Recovery Using the Buddha’s Teachings to Overcome Addiction” alongside other Buddhist recovery books.

Meetings will be peer led.
All donations go towards the running costs of the Buddhist Centre.

The Alternative Friday Night (Sub35)

Are you between 18 and 35 and looking for something new to do on a Friday night? Are you sick of doing the usual thing, or just fancy doing something different?

Come along to meditate, explore the teachings of Buddhism and connect with like-minded people. Our monthly evening will be a radical approach to Friday night!

Exploring Wisdom and Insight - for Triratna Regulars

A short course exploring Buddhist insight through our direct, everyday experience.

Each afternoon will include meditation, experiential exercises, discussion and pointers to try between sessions. Attend all three as they build on each other (fine to come to the first and then decide).

For Order Members, Mitras and those with at least a year of experience of our core Triratna meditations.

Women’s class - every second Saturday of the Month

Women’s class with guest speakers:

13 January 2018: Siddhisambhava is our guest, from rural Wales. Her life includes encouraging people to talk openly about topics most often avoided - from feminist journalism and gay rights in the 1980s to ageing and death. There will be stories, discussion and, of course, tea.

10 February 2018: Singhashri will lead a workshop on working with your mind in and out of meditation

10 March 2018: Topics and guests TBC soon

14 April 2018: no class

12 May 2018: Parami will be our guest again, and we’ve again moved the women’s class to the morning 10.00 – 12.45 as Parami will be the NLBC guest for our Buddha day festival that afternoon

Parinirvana Day Festival (Sun 18 Feb 2018)

Midsummer Weekend Sangha Retreat - Theme to be confirmed

An opportunity to practice together with the NLBC Sangha with our usual popular mix of meditation, presentations, ritual and enjoying the countryside together. Our rituals will celebrate and mark the Summer Solstice.
