Creative Vinyasa Flow

Mondays 19:30-20:45

Gentle to moderately-paced session that builds up to a fluid flow style. Students move through a creative and imaginative sequence of postures, interspersed with strength-building and sometimes challenging holds. The class winds down with an indulgent 10-minute guided relaxation and savasana.

Suitable for all levels from complete beginners to more experienced students.

Hatha Yoga

A deep and careful yoga designed to extend the spine and strengthen the body. There is a specific focus on long-term spinal health and undo-ing the damage caused by sitting for hours a time.
Movements are slow and precise; influenced by the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli, John Stirk, Anna Ashby and Catherine Annis. The class is un-hurried and not predicated on gymnastic ability.

The Thursday class is particularly relaxed and may include one or two long restorative postures and some meditation.

Qi Gong - new class starts 5 Jan 2017

The focus in this class is on sequences of postures and movements. These include more general forms such as the popular Taiji Qigong Shibashi, but also sequences relating to the development and health of particular aspects and parts of the body. It is not necessary to memorise the movements. Through the regulation of body, breath and mind, qigong practice promotes harmony of the The Three Treasures (essence, vitality and spirit) and so cultivates a deep sense of calm connectedness.

Dynamic Hatha Yoga

This class supports an approach to yoga that focuses on finding stability and space within the various poses (asana) and helps to increase vitality, awareness and a co-ordination between movement and breath.

Krama means a step by step progression. Krama allows the practitioner to either stay at the first posture building strength and creating space or building experience opting to go deeper into more advanced asana making it accessible to everyone. Qi (Chi) is the vital subtle energy that gives us life and connects us to the universe, and Gong means practice accumulated over time. The movements practised may be slow and meditative or more energetic. Qigong originated in ancient China and remains close to the roots of Chinese medicine, martial arts and Taoist practice. Loz Speyer is a long-standing student of Qigong masters Zhixing and Zhendi Wang, the founders of the Hua Gong style of Qigong. The fundamental Hua Gong forms and meditations make a strong basis for any healing, artistic or spiritual discipline.This practice can bring far reaching benefits for health and happiness. Accessible to people of all ages and levels of fitness. No previous experience is required!
