Parinirvana Day Festival (Sun 17 Feb 2018)

As the year begins to peek towards spring, we celebrate the death of the Buddha. The founder of our whole Buddhist tradition, old and infirm, lay down under the trees, and continued teaching right until the end.

We'll mark this anniversary with meditation, ritual and reflection, absorbing the reality of death in our own lives as well as celebrating the legacy that the Buddha left behind him, the Dharma.

If someone close to you has died in the past year, you are most welcome to bring their photograph to place on the shrine, so that their memory can be included in the day's celebrations.
