BAM! Early Morning Meditation 2018

In our early morning sit we will be focusing on different aspects of the Buddhist Action Month.

Suitable for people who have done the Mindfulness of Breathing and the Metta Bhavana before.

Morning meditation will be every week day starting Monday 4 June, through to Friday 29 June.

BAM! Buddhist Action Month in June

The theme for this year's Buddhist Action Month is "Transforming Self, Transforming World".

The NLBC will be taking part and we are inviting you to take your dharma and meditation practice off the cushion into action!

Some of the activities during BAM! are:

  • Donations for a local homeless charity

    Midsummer Weekend Sangha Retreat - Theme to be confirmed

    An opportunity to practice together with the NLBC Sangha with our usual popular mix of meditation, presentations, ritual and enjoying the countryside together. Our rituals will celebrate and mark the Summer Solstice.

    The retreat will be held at Redfield Retreat Centre, Buckinghamshire.

    Body, Breath, Heart - a Meditation Day for Regulars (Sun 1 July 2018)

    We warmly invite you to a day of collective meditation practice. The day will be in silence and we will explore the breath and the heart in a gentle, natural and rooted way.

    Sitting practice will be interspersed with mindful movement, walking, lying down, poetry and chanting.

    The day is suitable for anybody who is familiar with both meditation practices, the Mindfulness of Breathing and the Metta Bhavana.

    Please bring a vegan or vegetarian lunch to share.

    Meditation Day: Just Sitting

    Just Sitting meditation, sometimes known as pure awareness, is one of the core Triratna meditation practices.

    This day retreat will introduce different ways into the practice and include led meditations with gentle movement and time for questions and exploration.
