ONLINE: Guided Meditation through the week

This online meditation class is suitable for both newcomers to meditation and those with a regular meditation practice. The two main practices we teach are the Mindfulness of Breathing and the Metta Bhavana. These practices focus on developing calmness, integration, positive emotion and insight into our human potential.

ONLINE: The Magic and Mystery of Meditation

This is an ideal class to experience an in-depth taster of meditation or to deepen your existing meditation practice. Visuddhimati has decades of meditation experience and will be focusing on exploring "the magic and mystery of kindly awareness".

The classes will be exploring how to further develop kindly awareness in meditation in order to meet life’s challenges with resilience. Awareness coupled with kindness can bring about a radical and mysterious transformation in our everyday experience.

The evening will include led meditations with opportunities for discussion and questions. Suitable for all levels of experience.

You are welcome to come every week but each class is also stand-alone so feel free to drop in any week.

ONLINE: Day retreat - 4 ways to respond: from de-escalation to insight (Sun 7 June)

In this practical, grounded day retreat, Karunagita will introduce four ways in which we can respond to any experience as it arises, from a Buddhist perspective, touching on ethics, Metta and setting up the conditions for Insight. The day will include guidance in Just Sitting/ formless meditation and an emphasis on somatic/ direct body experience. Starting at 10.00 and ending at 5.00, there will be around 4.5 hours on zoom plus suggested mindful activities and inquiry to maintain the retreat throughout the day and beyond. Suitable for people with some experience of meditation.

ONLINE: Dimensions of Mindfulness Workshop - with Vajradaka

We are very pleased to be offering this guest workshop with Vajradaka! If you have some experience of meditation and are looking for ways to deepen your practice, this workshop is for you.

Vajradaka has been teaching meditation for over 40 years and has a deep interest in mindfulness meditation practices. In this workshop he will be exploring how to engage more creatively and contructively with different dimensions of mindfulness within meditation. Some of these dimensions are to do with dealing with our mental states, some are to do with entering into deeper states of meditation and some are to do with gaining insight into the nature of reality.

ONLINE COURSE: Change your mind: what does Buddhism have to offer?
(start Wed 24 June)

If you already have some experience of what meditation can give you and you are curious to learn more about what Buddhism really has to offer, this 4 week course is for you. If you want a happy, fulfilling life, working on your own mind is essential. That’s why understanding the mind, and learning how to change it, is the beginning, the end and the crux of Buddhism. This course will explain key teachings from the tradition that offer simple but profound and powerful ways of recognising your mental states, and practical tools to help you cultivate an ever more positive, creative and expansive mind. Led by Ratnaprabha, Chair of the North London Buddhist Centre, author of the popular book 'Finding the Mind', on which the course is based.

Suitable for anyone who has had some experience of meditation. Also recommended if you have done any of our previous courses.

The course will be conducted using the online platform Zoom so will require you to be able to access that, ideally via laptop or computer, or if not then via tablet. To access the Zoom details for the course please register here .
