Samhain Celebration and Ritual

Samhain/Halloween is a major festival with several aspects. It is new year's eve for witches, it inaugurates Winter, is the final chance to dry herbs for winter storage, and a night when fairies are supposedly afoot working mischief.

It is also the Day of the Dead for us as it was for the Celts, Egyptians and ancient Mexicans. Samhain is also a time for personal reflection, and for recognising our faults and flaws and creating a method for rectifying them.

We'll meditate and reflect and do a puja dedicated to Kshitigarbha who is associated with rescuing those in distress or hells.

Winter Solstice Celebration (Fri 21 Dec 2018)

The winter solstice, the rebirth of the Sun, is an important turning point, as it marks the shortest day, when the hours of daylight are at their least. We'll celebrate with meditation, reflection and ritual to prepare for the festive season and for the coming year.

This is a time to reflect on the year and prepare our resolutions, so that we have the best chance of success with any changes we want to make. Wear red!
