ONLINE: Saturday Meditation & Buddhism Keynote Talk | “Living the life: perfecting ethics”

Saturday 12th March 10:30 - 12:30
Suitable for Newcomers / Intermediates / Regulars

Start your weekend in a positive way with our friendly Saturday morning class, suitable for all. The first hour is meditation teaching and practice. Then at 11:30 we continue with an exploration of Buddhist teachings. This week is a special guest talk.

March’s Keynote Talk: Living the life: perfecting ethics by Akasharaja from the Earth Sangha.

Given the scale and gravity of the various crises the world is facing, including the climate and ecological emergency, it can be tempting to give in to despair, anger, blame or a self-centred urge to look after only ourselves and those we love, or simply to switch off. But we have other options, too. How can we apply the Buddha’s revolutionary teaching of ethics as a function of our mental states to work creatively with body, speech and mind, even in times of great stress and peril? How can we continue to exemplify loving-kindness in all our actions, regardless of what life throws at us? Join Akasharaja from the Triratna Earth Sangha in an exploration of sila paramita, the Perfection of Ethics, the foundation stone of the Buddhist life.

Recordings of past talks can be found on our North London Buddhist Centre YouTube channel here.

ONLINE PARTICIPANTS:- Please pay what you can for the class to help support the centre through the current crisis time. Suggested amount £10.
