*** SPECIAL ECO EVENT (Part 2) *** THE BURNING HOUSE ***
The NLBC is privileged to host this very special international event, highlighting the interface between Buddhism and the environment. We are delighted that this afternoon’s session will be led by popular Buddhist author Shantigarbha, whose book “The Burning House” has recently been published by Windhorse Publications (click HERE for more info).
He says: “In April 2019 Greta Thunberg told the world's leaders, ‘I want you to act as if the house was on fire.’ In the White Lotus Sutra we find the parable of the burning house. The parable encourages us to think creatively about how to get people out of a burning house when they aren't even aware that the house is burning. What would you do?”
This afternoon’s workshop will offer a chance to explore this profound question of our times from within a Buddhist framework. It will also be a chance to connect for people from within our NLBC community and Sangha who are interested in these issues.
There will be a limited number of spaces available so booking is essential. It is LIVE & IN-PERSON only.
*** See also separate entry for the morning event which will be on YouTube as well as LIVE & IN-PERSON ***
*** This session is offered in a spirit of generosity in that Shantigarbha is kindly donating his time for free. Please join with that spirit and DONATE IF YOU CAN to support us to continue in our mission to offer Buddhist classes and events in the modern world ***
