The Sangha is the Buddhist term for the community of people wishing to learn from the Buddha's teachings. Lalitaraja, Santva, Manjumitra, Khemananda and guest Order Members take turns to lead these evenings, practising and communicating Buddhism. A Sangha evening might include a talk, meditation, discussion, workshop, devotional practice. Open to all (though it is helpful if you have had an introduction to the Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana meditation practices).
Monday 11th October: an evening on The Bodhicaryavatara, with Kamalagita
“One’s mind finds no peace, neither enjoys pleasure or delight, nor goes to sleep, nor feel secure while the dart of hatred stuck in the heart”
We are delighted that Kamalagita has agreed to join us this evening to unpack and explore this core teaching from the Bodhicaryavatara. She says "I came across the seminal text, “The Bodhicaryavatara” 25 years ago, when I’d been involved with Triratna for a short time. It has remained an important source of inspiration for me as I continue to try and live out the Bodhisattva Ideal. In this workshop, we’ll explore what it has to say about strong emotions and how we can put this into practice in our life"
