Advanced course: "Stories of the Bodhi Tree" a 4-week course

When the Buddha arrived to sit under the Bodhi Tree, he vowed that he would not rise until he achieved Awakening. As far as we know, that was the very first time anyone who left a record had become enlightened, so it is, from a Buddhist point of view, the most momentous week in human history. In this four-week series we'll look in detail at four stories, told later by the Buddha, that describe his experience as he struggled with the forces trying to keep him in the sleep of ignorance. What do they say about the Buddha and his enlightenment? What do they have to teach us? With meditation, reflection, storytelling and discussion. This course is intended for people already committed to the Buddhist path.
