The Sangha is the Buddhist term for the community of people wishing to learn from the Buddha's teachings. Lalitaraja, Santva, Manjumitra, Khemananda and guest Order Members take turns to lead these evenings, practising and communicating Buddhism. A Sangha evening might include a talk, meditation, discussion, workshop, devotional practice. Open to all though most suitable for Intermediates and Regulars. Mon 12 April - Question Time with Kulamitra and Karunagita
We're delighted to welcome Kulamitra (our NLBC President) and Karunagita to this evening's Sangha Night. Karunagita has kindly agreed to MC the evening of questions which Kulamitra has generously agreed to respond to. You are encouraged to contribute your questions for Kulamitra. Kulamitra is a highly regarded and much appreciated Triratna Buddhist Order Member. He joined the new London Buddhist Centre (LBC) in Bethnal Green and, while there, he founded Aid for India, which was renamed the Karuna Trust, remaining a Trustee for over 30 years. Later he became Chair of the LBC.
Kulamitra has a long and very active association with the NLBC, playing a leading part in buying and re-furbishing our centre on Holloway Road. He has been Chair of the NLBC twice and is now our President. Kulamitra is a deep thinker, an able communicator and a good friend. He has recently completed his PhD thesis on early Buddhist practice in the Bhaja Caves, India.
