The Paradox of Being Human - a workshop with Vajradarshini
We are delighted to be able to offer this workshop as the culmination of the Winter Dharma Reflection Group (but also open to Intermediates, Regulars & Order Members who did not attend the group). We are particularly thrilled that Vajradarshini has offered to lead the workshop. Vajradarshini is an inspired and inspiring teacher whose workshops are celebrated by practioners all around the world. Her approach to practice is steeped in beauty, art and nature, and is deeply connected with reflection on the 3 Lakshanas (impermanence, suffering, insubstantiality) and the corresponding 3 Doorways to Freedom. She says about this workshop:-
“We human beings have both Buddha Nature and our basic animal nature. In each of us are all the qualities of awakening, just waiting to emerge. And yet, here we are, a part of the natural world. How do we cherish both? How do we live our lives with one foot in the ordinary world and one foot in absolute reality? There’s a Japanese philosophy called wabi-sabi that can help us learn to not only live in this paradox, but to fall in love with it. Join us for this workshop and together we’ll approach the paradox in multiple ways. Including meditation, reflection and discussion. Drawing on dharma, art and nature.”
This event is offered in a spirit of generosity in that Vajradarshini has given her time for free. Please join with this spirit if you possibly can and give us a donation towards the survival of the Centre, so that we can continue to offer events to as many people as possible in these difficult times. Suggested donation £15. You can donate here. Please use reference ‘Vajradarshini’. Many many thanks.
