The Sangha is the Buddhist term for the community of people wishing to learn from the Buddha's teachings. Lalitaraja, Santva, Manjumitra, Khemananda and guest Order Members take turns to lead these evenings, practising and communicating Buddhism. A Sangha evening might include a talk, meditation, discussion, workshop, devotional practice. Open to all (though it is helpful if you have had an introduction to the Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana meditation practices).
Mon 2 Nov: Celebrating Samhain (Halloween) with a Puja to Kshitigarbha - the Bodhisattva of the Hell Realms
Samhain/Halloween is new year's eve for witches! It inaugurates Winter and is a night when fairies go about working mischief. However, Samhain is also a time for personal reflection - for recognising our faults and flaws and creating a method for rectifying them. Because the founder of the Triratna Buddhist Order and Community, Sangharakshita, died on 30th October we will incorporate remembrance of him alongside meditation, reflection and a Puja to Kshitigarbha.
